Hello! My name is Jeremy David-Paul Hartman, and I grew up in Denver, Colorado, USA. My passion for languages began during childhood vacations to Mexico, where my parents encouraged me to learn Spanish. After initial challenges with Spanish at Lakewood High School, a transformative 5-week immersion program in Mérida, Mexico, before college solidified my commitment to mastering the language.

I pursued a BA in Spanish for the Professions and International Affairs at the University of Colorado Boulder. Upon graduating in 2013, I moved to Barcelona, Spain, to work as a Spanish-to-English translator for a Catalonian online wine distributor. This experience deepened my fluency and cultural understanding.

Returning to the USA, I spent a winter in Breckenridge and a summer in Alaska before taking a position with Dell Computers in Panama City. As an Internal Communications Analyst, I achieved fluency in Spanish and honed my accent. After my contract ended, I followed my passion for sales to Montevideo, Uruguay, working with GeneXus Consulting to sell software development and testing to the US market.

With over ten years of Spanish studies and two years living in Spanish-speaking countries, I became fluent and developed an interest in Portuguese. Leveraging my Spanish knowledge, I began studying Portuguese online with Phillipe Brazuca while also utilizing language learning apps. I then taught elementary students in Lisbon, Portugal about climate change in Portuguese and spent four months backpacking through Brazil, achieving fluency through my studies and immersion.

Recently, I shifted my focus to learning French. Over the past three years, I have studied and worked in France, earning the B1 and then the B2 DULF certifications from the University of Clermont Auvergne during the 2023-2024 academic year.

I am incredibly passionate about international affairs and traveling, having visited 32 different countries. In addition to offering translation and interpretation services, I can support your business expansion abroad or assist with your personal international travel plans. As an experienced teacher and private tutor, I also offer English classes for individuals and businesses, helping you or your team improve English language skills.
