Sofia, Rila and Plovdiv
During my February 2023 trip, I spent time exploring Sofia and wrote about its history, food, and nightlife. My original journal also describes the journey toward Rila Monastery and a visit to Plovdiv, where I was particularly interested in the city’s surviving Roman and Ottoman history. The photographs on this page come from that original travel article.
