Panama | World Project

Part of the World Project. One country, one evolving collection of places, experiences, photographs, and memories.

My experience

I lived and worked in Panama City, where Spanish became part of my everyday professional life. My time there also helped develop my interests in international affairs and business.

Places and journeys

Panama City; Bocas del Toro

Photographs already in the archive

These images and their location labels appeared in my earlier published travel writing. I’ll add more photographs and firsthand experiences as I develop this country chapter.

Living and working in Panama

Panama City was one of my first substantial periods of living and working abroad. I spent roughly a year there in internal communications with Dell, using Spanish in a professional setting rather than only as a traveler.

That was part of what made Panama important to me. Working in another country brought routines, professional relationships and a different perspective on international business. My earlier life-story archive also includes photos from Panama City and a Dell Giving visit to Bocas del Toro.

I plan to return to those experiences with more of my original photographs, keeping the work, culture and travel stories grounded in what I actually remember.

Photographs and future chapters

I’m gradually working through my personal photo and video archive to add more of the experiences behind this destination. This is a living page, not a finished guide.
