France as a place to live and explore
Since 2021, France has become more than an occasional destination for me. Clermont-Ferrand and Auvergne are part of my everyday life, but they have also introduced me to a region I want to document through its mountains, towns, historic places and local traditions.
My journeys across France include Lyon, Paris, Nîmes, Vichy and other places beyond the large tourist centers. I also traveled to Martinique in the Caribbean, a reminder that the French Republic extends far beyond metropolitan Europe.
The Paris 2024 Olympics is already one of the longer photo-led stories on this site. I want future French chapters to give smaller places the same attention, particularly the towns and landscapes that rarely dominate international travel guides.
