Morocco | World Project

Part of the World Project. One country, one evolving collection of places, experiences, photographs, and memories.

My experience

I spent time in Rabat, including a stay at a surf hostel. Morocco gave me another perspective on the connections between Europe, North Africa, and the Atlantic world.

Photographs already in the archive

These photographs appeared on my website before I began organizing the World Project country pages. I am reusing the original images and their existing location labels while I work through my larger photo collection.

Rabat and memories of Chefchaouen

In 2018, my travels in Morocco included Rabat, where I stayed at a surf hostel. That trip formed part of a longer period of travel based around Portugal and neighboring countries.

An older photograph on this website is captioned Chefchaouen, another Moroccan place I remember. The exact sequence of the two stops is still being reconstructed, so I don’t want to force them into a single itinerary until I can check the rest of the archive.

Morocco is one of the places where I want to bring more of my original photography into the World Project, beyond the single image that has been publicly available here for years.

Photographs and future chapters

I’m gradually working through my personal photo and video archive to add more of the experiences behind this destination. This is a living page, not a finished guide.
