Part of the World Project. One country, one evolving collection of places, experiences, photographs, and memories.
My experience
I traveled to Ramallah and Bethlehem. Palestine is included in my country tally as a UN non-member observer state, and this page will focus on the places and people I experienced firsthand.
Places and journeys
Ramallah; Bethlehem
Ramallah, Bethlehem and a question of recognition
My travels in Palestine included Ramallah and Bethlehem. I remember passing through a crossing where travel documents were checked, a practical part of the experience that a simple country list doesn’t convey.
Palestine is a United Nations non-member observer state. It is included in both my 37-state UN member-and-observer count and my broader 38-destination count. Kosovo is the additional destination in my personal total.
I don’t want to use this page as a substitute for the people who live there or as a political manifesto. It is a place for my firsthand experiences and photographs, with space for what I still have to learn.
Photographs and future chapters
I’m gradually working through my personal photo and video archive to add more of the experiences behind this destination. This is a living page, not a finished guide.
